Groundswell Community Mural Project is a NYC-based, 501(c)(3) founded in 1996 to bring together youth, professional artists, and communities in partnership. We use art as a tool for social change by creating high quality works of public art in under-represented neighborhoods. Groundswell Mural would like to thank Elizabeth Maroney for documenting our Summer Leadership Institute 2011 projects.
Youth artists plan a mural about restorative justice for the Brooklyn Detention Center. Circles will be featured in the design to reference many core principles of Buddhism. (June 2011)
