With support from the Winifred Johnson Clive Foundation, 15 young people participating in SLI 2011 collaborated with artists Clare Herron and Grace Baley to create “Infinite Dreams,” a vibrant mosaic designed to support the transformation of P.S. 164’s blacktop schoolyard into a green play space.

This project was completed in partnership with The Trust for Public Land (TPL), as part of TPL’s effort to transform neglected spaces into playgrounds or community parks to help ensure that every child in the city has a safe outdoor play space.

About

Groundswell is a NYC-based, 501(c)(3) founded in 1996 to bring together youth, professional artists, and communities in partnership. We use art as a tool for social change by creating high quality works of public art in under-represented neighborhoods.

Groundswell would like to thank the Youth Media Council for documenting the 2012 Summer Leadership Institute.

Groundswell's Youth Media Council encourages a high level of leadership by developing youth communications and marketing skills, and training youth participants to become advocates for their peer apprentice artists, for Groundswell, and for the projects in which they are participating.
